Dennis James Potts

Dennis James Potts, 78, of Bay City, Wisconsin, died Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home. He was born June 28, 1946, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to James and Erma (Halverson) Potts. He graduated from Ellsworth High School and went on to attend Winona Technical School for welding. He began working for Meyer Industries, where he worked for 40 years until his retirement. On May 7, 1966, he married Mary Ann Hanson at Eidsvold Lutheran Church and they made their home in the Bay City area. Dennis enjoyed gardening, cooking, working on his hobby farm and was always available to help friends and family. For over 30 years, he served as Chairman for the Isabelle Township and had been a long-time member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church, where he served on the Cemetery Board.

He is survived by his four children, Dale Potts, Karyl Tiffany, Tricia (Rich) Lofgren and Darrell (Steph) Potts; grandchildren, Allie (Joey) Oehmke, Cassie (Marcus Noesen) Lofgren, Josie (Travis) Joyce, Marcus Potts, Sophia (Jadon) Gordy, Emily Lofgren, Patrick Tiffany and Jada Potts; great-granddaughter, Amelia Joyce; siblings, Dean Potts and Diane Hines; special friend, Linda Meacham and her family and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 1999 and his parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile, Wisc. with Rev. Alex Aakre officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Eidsvold Lutheran Cemetery.
