Dorothy A. Ness

Dorothy Alvina Ness, 95, of Rochester, died Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the Pine Haven Care Center. She was born on February 13, 1930, in Wanamingo to Mr. and Mrs. Casper Syverson. She was baptized and confirmed at Lands Lutheran Church of Zumbrota. She attended elementary and high schools in Wanamingo. She was employed at the Kahler Corporation, St. Marys Hospital, Nolton’s Department Store and Union National Bank of Rochester. She was also an employee at IBM for 24 years and retired from there in 1990. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was of service to many. She enjoyed working outdoors with flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed bowling, ceramics and music. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Rochester.

She is survived by four children, Dennis Ness, Cheryl (Brad) Nord, Kevin (Cheri) Ness and Brian (Sue) Ness and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jewel Ness and siblings, Clifford Syverson, Patricia Dankers, Marion Stevens, Arlene Anderson and Lila Grose.

Burial will be at the Lands Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zumbrota. Memorials are prefered to Lands Lutheran Church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Larson Chapel.
