Edward Frank Ogden, Jr., age 72, of Red Wing, died Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his residence. He was born October 18, 1952 in Red Wing to Edward Ogden Sr. and Katherine (Siewert) Bjorngaard. He attended school in Red Wing. He married Jody Bursell May 17, 1971. They lived in Lake City where they raised their family. They later divorced. Ed started his own business as an auto mechanic. He then began working as a C and C Machinist, a job which he was able to travel to several countries across the world for. He later became a union painter and continued that until his retirement. Ed’s passion was working on cars. This brought many different projects and many frustrations, but it never stopped him.
He is survived by his children, Shawn Ogden of Red Wing, Stacie (Steve) Patnode of Red Wing, Sharee Ogden of Lake City, Heather (Hilb) Ogden of Red Wing, Krista (Kurt) Hanson of Red Wing, David (Danielle Angell) Ogden of Hammond, MN, Rebecca Ogden of Red Wing; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; parents, Katy and Merrill Bjorngaard; brother, Jason (Shelly) Bjorngaard of Red Wing; sisters, Sharon (Doug) Clark of Ennis, MT; Anne (Scott) Phernetton of Red Wing; one niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Sr.; sister, Janice; brother, John.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with Chaplain Gwen Buckingham officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Family invites anyone with a classic car to drive it to the service in honor of Ed’s love for cars.
