Elaine Rochford

November 25, 1948 — December 11, 2022

Lake City

Elaine “Ellie” Rochford, 74, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2022 at The Bluffs in Lake City.

Ellie was born on November 25, 1948 in Rochester, MN to Philip and Carma (Ehrlinger) Blouin. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966 and St. Catherine University with a BA in Education. She started her teaching career in Chicago and was a teacher at Plainview Elementary for 23 years. Ellie married Bob Rochford on August 1st, 1970 in Rochester, MN.

Ellie had a passion for teaching children that spanned over 25 years. She was a lover of music, books and romcoms, “Sleepless in Seattle” was a favorite! She would sing to her students and to her children to encourage them to learn and grow (she would make brushing your teeth and waking up fun with personalized songs). She was the best daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, and doted on her grandchildren. She could always be found reading books with her grandchildren (The Polar Express was one of her favorites!). The lessons she taught both at school and at home will have lasting impacts on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ellie is survived by her husband Bob of Lake City; her daughters, Molly Rochford of Lake City and Erin (Rochford) Coda of Omaha; grandchildren, Dominic, Sloane and Nina; sisters, Dianne Neill of Snohomish, WA. And Julie Donaldson of Plainview.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carma and Philip, brother, Joe Blouin and an infant daughter.

A Celebration of Life of Ellie will be scheduled at a later date. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamily funeralhome.com
