Elnora Aadahl

Elnora Aadahl, age 91, of Pine Island and formerly Wanamingo, died on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2006 at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to the service at the church. She was born Elnora Bjugan on January 20, 1915 in Roscoe Township, Goodhue Co., MN to Henry and Mathilda (Froyum) Bjugan. She attended country school and graduated from Wanamingo High School. On November 21, 1939 Elnora married Severin Aadahl in Zumbrota. They lived in rural Aspelund, the Zumbrota area and in 1948 settled in Wanamingo. Severin died in 1992. Elnora worked on the package assembly line at Maple Island Creamery in Wanamingo and was a baker for the Zumbrota Nursing Home. She was a lifetime active member of Lands Lutheran Church where she was involved with the women?s organizations and circles. She enjoyed baking, her family and grandchildren, and loved to play the card game "Rook." Her most important aspect in life was her faith. Elnora is survived by her two daughters: Galene (Stan) Lexvold of Red Wing, MN and Elaine (John) Grudem of Alpharetta, GA; two sons: Harvey (Cynthia) Aadahl of Zumbrota, MN and Lyle (Mary) Aadahl of Byron, MN; seven grandchildren: Camille (Rick) Kimmes, Nicole (Jeff) Lexvold, Nathanael Lexvold, Megan Grudem, Lindsay Grudem, Kim Marie (Kevin) Schmidt and Peder Aadahl; four great-grandchildre: Victoria Schmidt, Langston Lexvold, Owen & Kobe Kimmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; twin infant sons and two brothers: Harold and Gerhard Bjugan.
