Eunice Grace (Getting) Flater

Eunice Grace Flater, age 93, of Lake City, MN died on Friday, December 2 at the Lake City Care Center.

She was born on December 30, 1928, in Grundy County, Iowa to Fred W. and Sarah (Diekman) Getting. She attended Grundy Center Community Schools in Grundy Center, IA and graduated in 1948. On July 2, 1953, she married Ivan Flater in Grundy Center. She worked at the Elementary School in Grundy Center before retiring in 1991. In 1994, they moved to Lake City, MN to be closer to their son and his family. They enjoyed spending their summers in Lake City and their winters in Pharr, TX. She was a member of the Redeeming Grace Community Church in Lake City and was previously a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center for 53 years. Eunice enjoyed her summers fishing on Lake Pepin and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Dianna) Flater of Lake City; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Darren) Luepke of Lakeville and Sarah (Matt) Stradtmann of Kasson and great-grandchildren, Nora and Henry Luepke and William and Emma Stradtmann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; parents; son, David; brother, Wallace Getting and sister, Marcella Hartman.

Funeral Service will be 11 am on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Redeeming Grace Community Church in Lake City with Reverend Philip Schmidt officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11 am at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, IA.  Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
