Evon Esther Bushman

Evon Ester Bushman, 87, of Pine Island Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 19,2025, surrounded by her family. Evon was born on January 5, 1938, in Milton Township, Minnesota, to Edwin and Mildred Yennie. She graduated from Pine Island High School. Early in her career, she lived and worked in Minneapolis at Northwestern Bank and Donaldson’s. Evon married Herman “Pete” Bushman in 1971, and together they raised a blended family of seven children. They built a loving home filled with kindness and were always ready to welcome anyone who needed a place to feel at home. Evon enjoyed reading, antiquing, cooking and spending time with her family – often at the lake. She loved her family dearly and cherished her many friends. For over 60 years Evon was the owner and operator of Lantern Antiques, a business she poured her heart into. To her family, Evon was the best homemaker – an important job she handled with grace and joy.Evon is survived by her husband of 54 years, Pete, children Todd Smith (David) of Sarasota, FL; Craig Smith (Carol), Pine Island, MN; Kirstin Wood (Cam), Siren, WI; Peter Bushman (Jenny),Rice, MN; Erica Leitzen (Dan), Rochester, MN; Bryce Bushman, Pine Island, MN, and Heather Leiferman (John), Oronoco, MN. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and her brother, Kert Yennie. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother. Evon will be remembered for her kindness, hospitality and unwavering devotion to her family.

A memorial service for Evon will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2025, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pine Island with Reverend Jim Scaife officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
