Gerald (Jerry) Charles Beckman, 81, passed away July 3, 2024 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN.
He was born July 20, 1942 in La Crosse, WI to Lester and Verna (Schild) Beckman.
Jerry was raised on a farm in Houston, MN.
After graduation, he moved to Rochester, MN where he went to work for "Rochester Dairy:" While living in Rochester, Jerry met and married Sharon Kay Goplen in 1961. Jerry and Sharon had one daughter, Lisa. Jerry and Sharon farmed in Pine Island until Sharon's passing in 2001.
Jerry was later married to Donna Sieberling.
His last few years were spent driving for "Three- Rivers." He enjoyed helping others that were no longer able to transport themselves. Jerry also enjoyed being able to visit and joke with each one of them.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bill) Hollar of Pine Island; two grandsons, Justin (Holly) Hollar of Pine Island and Ryan (Nicole) Hollar of Rochester; one great granddaughter, Rylynn Hollar of Pine Island; two great-grandsons, Austin and Gavin Hollar of Rochester; one sister, Janet (Chuck) Sumner of La Crescent; five brothers, Chuck (Leora) Beckman of Houston, Jim (Jane) Beckman of Houston, Duane (Marcia) Beckman of Caledonia, Bob (Mary) Beckman of Houston and Mike (Kelly) Beckman of Houston; one aunt, Berniece Otto of La Crescent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Lester & Verna Beckman; mother and father-in-law, Laverne & Adeline Goplen; and granddaughter, Ashley.
A Celebration of life will be held for Jerry at 11:00am on Friday, July 12, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with an hour of visitation prior. Inurnment will be at the Pine Island Cemetery following the service.
