Gerald Paul Berge, 92, of Isanti, Minn. died Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 6, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Palmer and Ruth (Wickenhoffer) Berge. Gerald went to schools in Eden Prairie, Excelsior and he graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years in Japan until his honorable discharge in 1955. He then graduated from Augsburg University in 1958. In 1961, he was united in marriage to Lois Jean Nelson.
Gerald worked for Honeywell for 33 years, retiring in 1991. During his working years, Gerald lived in Minnetonka, Glen Lake and upon retirement, Aitkin County. He and Lois moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 2006. In 2022, the couple moved to Isanti, Minn. to be closer to family.
Gerald loved collecting model and real collector cars. He was an active, long-time member of the Corvair Minnesota Car Club. He was also an active member of United Lutheran Church in Red Wing.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Paul (Sheila) Berge of Isanti, Minn. and Mark Berge of Chaska, Minn.; grandsons, Nick (Brittany) Berge of Waverly, Minn. and Cody Berge of Isanti, Minn.; granddaughter, Abigail (Robert) Arndt of Isanti, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Waylon Berge and Livi and Landon Arndt.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra (Darrell) Bearson and his parents.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2025 at Long Lake Lutheran Church in Isanti, Minn. with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial with full military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
