Geraldine Kinlund

Geraldine (Gerry) Margaret Kinlund, 87, of Byron, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024 at St. Mary's hospital with her beloved granddaughter, Tabitha, at her side.

Gerry was born on July 20, 1936 in St. Paul to Gerhard and Margaret Hoemke. Gerry married the love of her life, Robert Story, on June 18, 1955. Gerry and Robert raised 6 children while moving to various towns in Minnesota for Robert's job. Gerry spent the majority of her life in Mazeppa working the farm. Gerry had a brief marriage to Herald Kinlund.

Gerry's passions included farming, having many animals including dogs, cats, pigs, cows, and orphan deer, driving her John Deere tractor, and gardening.

Gerry is survived by her children, Glenn (Claudette) Story, Anthony Story, Mark Story, Janet Mitchell, and Michael (Sara) Story; many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerry is preceded in death by, her husband Robert Story; parents Gerhard and Margaret Hoemke; and her son Steven Story.

Inurnment will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Mazeppa. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
