Gerry Arnold

Gerry D. Arnold, 75, of Kasson, died peacefully at home on January 1, 2024.

He was was born on September 13, 1948 to Deana and Everett Arnold in Chatfield, MN. He Graduated in 1966 from Chatfield High School.

Gerry enlisted in the US Army in May 1967. He served in Vietnam as part of the Tet Offensive. During his time of active duty he was awarded two Bronze Stars. He served until January 1970 when he was Honorably Discharged.

On September 11, 1971 he married Catherine Blake in Rochester. They had  two daughters, Melissa and Kristine. Catherine and Gerry were married 52 years.

Gerry worked for Northwestern Bell starting in 1972 to his retirement from Centurylink in 2016. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing Bluegrass music.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughters, Melissa (Christopher) Schomaker and Kristine Severson (Joshua Newer); four granddaughters, Katelyn Severson, Madison Arnold, Joslin Newer and Adrianna Newer; brothers, Rick (Nancy) Arnold, David (Gail) Arnold; sister, Cindy (Ken) Moe.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Jack, Dean and Mark Arnold; Sisters, Carolyn (Bicknese), Rita (Newman), Linda (Kuester) and three infant siblings Janice, Janet, and Kim Arnold.

A Requiem Mass was held January 4, 2024 at The Church of St. Michael Catholic Church in Pine Island. Burial with Military Honors at Preston VA Cemetery in Preston, MN.
