Glenn Laack

March 13, 1943 — May 3, 2025

Glenn Alvin Laack, 82, of Pine Island, died Saturday, May 3 ,2025 at home with his family by his side.

He was born March 13, 1943 in Plainview, Minn. to Alvin and Helene (Haack) Laack. He grew up in the area and attended parochial school, later earning his GED. On July 7, 1974 he married Gail Schlagheck in St. Cloud. Together they had three children. The couple later parted ways.

Glenn worked for 54 years as a cutting machine operator at Johnson Printing in Rochester. His work ethic was unmatched.

He was a talented gardener who loved spending time with his vegetables and flowers. He taught himself flower design and won ribbons for his beautiful floral arrangements. He also saved heirloom seeds, keeping the best of his garden and the gardens of friends growing long after it's first harvest.

Glenn was a kind and generous soul. He never missed an opportunity to be grateful for what he had. He wasn't afraid to express his deep affection for his children and grandchildren. He was also very funny. He has a wonderful sense of humor and could delight a room with his unexpected one-liners.

Most of all, Glenn had a deep and abiding faith. He enjoyed studying the bible, both on his own through journaling, and in fellowship with others. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran in Zumbrota.

He is survived by his children; Geol (Oksana) Laack, Gina (Lance) Adler, and Gregory (Tiffany) Laack; 5 grandchildren, Noelle, August, Westyn, Wyatt and Drea; brother, David (Rena) Laack; and sister, Carol Garro; as well as other family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Marvin Laack, former spouse, Gail, and his parents.

A celebration of Glenn's life will be 11:30 - 2 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. A private family burial will take place at Pine Island Cemetery. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamiyfuneralhome.com
