Gloria Ann Hillman, 88, of Red Wing, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Deer Crest. She was born October 12, 1937, in Northfield, to Clifford and Jessie (Anderson) Henry. Her family moved to Red Wing, where she attended school and graduated from Red Wing Central High School as Salutatorian in 1955. She received a scholarship for college and attended Arizona State University until she was united in marriage to Richard Nybo in 1959. Richard passed away in 1965. As a single mother, Gloria began working for Tony Lawrence Trucking. Gloria met David Hillman at the Red Wing Country Club while he was working in the area, and the two were married in 1971. They moved to Rochester, New York. In New York, Gloria worked as a controller for two different country clubs. In 1995, they retired and located to Sanford, North Carolina, living in the golf community, Carolina Trace, where they lived for 25 years until moving back to Red Wing to be with their daughter and family for health reasons.
Gloria was a dedicated and competitive bridge player, achieving the rank of Life Master from the American Contract Bridge League. She loved the strategy of the game and the friendships made at the bridge table. An avid golfer, living in a golf community, she spent an abundance of time on the golf course and on golf committees. She loved to entertain and was a gourmet cook. However, the biggest joy of her life was her only grandson, Jack Richard Bennis.
She is survived by her daughter, Karolyn Nybo (Scott) Bennis; grandson, Jack Bennis; niece Fran (Dwight) Young and nephew, Mike Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Anthony; first husband, Richard Nybo; second husband, David Hillman and siblings, Clinton, Glen and Phillip Henry.
