Greg Erickson

Gregory John Erickson, age 73, died Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Regions Hospital. He was born August 26, 1952 in Red Wing to Raymond and Joyce (Welt) Erickson. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1970. He began working at the Tannery before getting into his lifelong passion for construction. In 1987 he married Jo Swanson. Greg started working in construction with Rodney Schmidt, he later formed General Construction with Niles Korsten. He and Niles built many houses and other construction projects throughout the area. Greg supposedly retired around 2016, but no one could really tell. He kept helping people with different projects until the very end. Greg enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting bear, moose, deer and turkey; he recently began to enjoy drag racing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Erickson; daughter, Amanda (Jordan Mackenzie) Erickson; son, Samuel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Joyce; sisters, Jacqueline Krie, Bonnie Fulton and Barbara Erickson; infant twin brothers, Henry and Raymond.

Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.
