Gwen Dalbotten

Gwen Dalbotten, 91, of Red Wing, MN, died Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Pine Ridge Senior Living in Hudson, WI.

She was born August 20, 1934, in Red Wing, MN, to Chester and Marcella Carlson. She graduated from Red Wing High School and attended Red Wing VoTech. Gwen was creative throughout her life. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was talented at creating quilts and quilted bags, as well as sewing clothing. Gwen enjoyed reading and watching movies, especially old classics. On May 23, 1953, Gwen was married to Dale Dalbotten. They settled in Red Wing and lived there together for over 60 years. Together they toured much of the country on their motorcycles and especially loved annual visits to South Dakota.

Gwen is survived by her one daughter, Carlene (Ron) Krueger of Hudson, WI; one son, Dean (Diana) Dalbotten of St. Paul; one grandson, William (Skylar) Dalbotten of St Paul; three great grandchildren, Eric, Ramona and Theodore; and several nieces and nephews.

Gwen is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale, her parents and one sister Betty Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, MN, with Vicar Maddy officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing.
