Harlyn Junior Borgschatz, 81, of Red Wing, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born March 5, 1931 in Goodhue County to Henry and Huldah (Stechman) Borgschatz and graduated from grade school in Minneola Township. He worked with his father on the family farm and had also worked at the Libby Canning Company. Harlyn loved to fish, and greatly enjoyed going with his nephew Brent as well as going on the Red Wing Health Center fishing outings. Having grown up and working on the farm, he never lost his love for farming, and enjoyed taking drives in the country and farmland areas.
He is survived by his sister, Donna (Curtis) Melhouse of Kenyon and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harvey, Vernon and Alton and sister, Darlene Johnson.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Zumbrota Cemetery.
