Harvey Frederich Hinrichs, age 73, of rural Goodhue died on Friday, February 10, 2006 at his home after a ten year battle with cancer. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. John?s Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue with Reverend Andy Krause officiating. Burial will be in St. John?s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, February 12, 2006 from 2:00 ? 6:00 P.M. at the church and one hour prior to the service. Harvey Frederich Hinrichs was born on June 7, 1932 in Zumbrota Township, Goodhue County, MN to Aanard and Marjorie (nee Post) Hinrichs. He grew up in Goodhue Township. Harvey served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Marlys Vieths on May 28, 1960 in Goodhue. Harvey farmed all of his life in Goodhue Township. He was a longtime member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, where he served a term as President, Chairman of the Congregation and President of the St. John?s Board of Education. He served on the Goodhue Elevator Board. Harvey was also a delegate for Mid-America Dairymen. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their hobbies, as well as fishing, hunting and old time music. Harvey is survived by his wife, Marlys; children, Daniel (Linda) Hinrichs of Zumbrota, Timothy (Nancy) Hinrichs of Goodhue, Kathryn (Rev. Charles) Raasch of Jackson, WI, Steven (Amy) Hinrichs of Plainview, MN, and Annette (Joseph) Miller of Lakeville, MN; twelve grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Joyce) Hinrichs of Goodhue; one sister, Arlene (Arvie) Greer of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Aanard and Marjorie Hinrichs. Memorials are suggested to St. John?s Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
