Helen Willers, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Wing.
Helen was born on December 1, 1945, in Wabasha, to Otto and Bernice (Hetrick) Meurer. She married Keith Willers on May 18, 1968, in Wabasha, MN. Helen cherished time spent with family and friends and enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, golfing and attending sporting events. She worked for many years as a beautician and proudly operated the salon at the Lake City Care Center.
Helen’s love and pride for her grandchildren were unmatched. She will be deeply missed by all who lovingly knew her as “Mimi.”
Helen is survived by her sons, Mike (Lindsey) Willers, Mark (Joan) Willers of Lake City, and Chris (Angie) Willers of Wabasha; her nine grandchildren, Cole (Courtney), Hallie (Edwin), Taylor, Sumner, Ryann, Marnice, Kylee, Piersen, and Luke; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte. She also shared great joy and companionship with her beloved companion, Bill Bruegger. She is also survived by her sister, Sue (Richard) Reed; and sisters-in-law, LaVonne, Gloria, Skip, Linda, and Barb. Helen will be remembered for the many friendships she cherished and the countless hours spent enjoying laughter, lunch, and coffee with those dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her parents; her brothers, Robert, Roger, Richard, Fred, and William; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Willers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Redeeming Grace Community Church, with Reverend Phillip Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.
