Jacquelyn "Jacki" Dean Henderson of Red Wing, MN, passed away Tuesday, June 10th, 2026, at her home.
She was born December 20th, 1949 in St. Paul, MN. She was adopted by Archie and Edythe (Bauman) Foster of Springfield, MN where she grew up in a loving home and graduated from Springfield High School in 1967.
She married Dennis Robert Henderson of Mankato, MN in 1969 and raised three children, first in Vernon Center, MN, then moving to Red Wing, MN in 1977. In Red Wing, they owned and operated Denny & Jacki's 5-Star Catering and the restaurant side of Grandpa's Brass Rail - Eating House & Saloon. After divorcing Dennis, Jacki worked many jobs before she found her calling at the Red Wing Health Center. She started there as the front desk receptionist, eventually moving into the business office at St. John's Hospital, later Fairview, then Mayo, moving up through the years, filling any role that was needed. She loved helping patients make sense of the complicated processes of paying for their healthcare.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Red Wing, serving on their board for a number of years until her health prevented her from doing so. Even so, she loved watching the services on YouTube every week.
She loved singing, her many pets through the years, watching the sunsets from her apartment in the Downtown Plaza, and her shows. Whether it was Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, The Gameshow Network, or all of the "Chicago" shows, she was a dedicated viewer and enjoyed talking about them with all of her children and friends.
Her children were multitude. Her own children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and the innumerable bonus children she inherited through the years, were HER children. She was "Mom" to so many. She loved spending time with all of them, learning about their lives, supporting them through their highs and lows, and celebrating their accomplishments. Whenever they needed her, she was there. She was generous with her time, money and, especially, her love.
Jacki had the biggest heart in the world. She knew that the most important thing in the world is love, and she had love to give. If you knew Jacki, you knew her laugh and her smile and the warmth she shared with the world. If you knew Jacki, you knew you were loved.
She is survived by her 3 children: Adriene, John (Sarah), and Melissa (Jak); her 6 grandchildren: Trevor (Kayla), Shay, Habit, Ethan, Saoirse, and Jillian; her 3 great-grandchildren: Sally, Milo, and Dezmond; and her sisters: Donna Jeffries and Susan Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie & Edythe, her brother, Ed Werner, her birth mother Maxine Werner, and her numerous aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am on July 11th, 2026 at Mahn Family Funeral Home in Red Wing with Reverend Julie Kocher officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
