Jada Mae Western Boy

Jada Mae “Sina To Win” (Blue Shawl Woman) Western Boy was born on August 24, 1999, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Nicholas Western Boy and Venita Shangreaux. As the sun was rising on July 30, 2026, Jada was called home to the Star Nation. From the time she was little, Jada was a lover of sports. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings with her dad and enjoyed attending Timberwolves games together. She attended Red Wing High School before graduating from East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota. Throughout high school, she excelled in softball and basketball and also played for the Minnesota Sting. Her dedication and talent earned her numerous athletic awards and achievements. Jada was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in and to use her voice, especially when it came to protecting those she loved. She was incredibly proud of her sobriety and was a strong advocate for mental health. She treated everyone with kindness, compassion, and understanding, never judging those who struggled. Her journey inspired others, and she wanted people to know that healing, hope, and second chances are always possible. In 2021, Jada welcomed her first son into the world. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a proud boy mama who loved her three sons—Zayden, Koah, and Zion—to the ends of the earth and fought tirelessly for them every day. 

Jada is survived by her three beloved sons, Zayden, Koah, and Zion; her companion, Nick; her mother, Venita Shangreaux; her Ina, Billie Western Boy; her grandmothers, Robin, Rita, Shirley, Timya, Geri, and Stephanie; her grandfathers, Scotty, Raymond, Clifford, and Gaylin; her Antie’s Corey, Jenny, and Sam; her sisters, Jaysalynn, Savannah, Tristyn, and Kennesey; her brothers, Derrick, Lloyd, Mason, Brandon Jr., Lane, Randy, and Cody; her nieces, Keya and Echo; her nephew, Anthony; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.

Jada was welcomed to the Star Nation by her father, Nicholas Western Boy, exactly six months after he was called home. She was reunited with her sister, Shelby; her uncles, Jack and Bill; her cousins, Joseph and Taden; and many beloved grandparents, relatives, and loved ones who went before her.

Those who knew Jada will remember her fierce love, her resilience, her willingness to stand up for others, and the immeasurable love she had for her boys. She often jokingly referred to herself as “a little jar of big cookies,” a phrase that perfectly captured her playful spirit, warm heart, and unique sense of humor. Jada, you will always be our little jar of big cookies. Though her journey on Earth was far too short, her love, laughter, courage, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through her children and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at the Prairie Island Community Center from 3 p.m. Saturday, August 1 to 11 a.m. Monday, August 3. Following the visitation will be a funeral service on Monday, August 3 at 11 a.m., burial at Prairie Island Community Cemetery after the funeral at 1 p.m.
