Jane Elizabeth Blattner

September 14, 1957 — June 25, 2025

Eau Claire

Jane Elizabeth Blattner, a shining light in the world, was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025.

Jane was born on September 14th, 1957, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Estel and Gwendolyn (Manahan) Comadoll. Jane’s family made the move to Lake City, Minnesota, where she spent the majority of her childhood. Jane’s family were members of the United Methodist Church in Lake City. Jane was a devout Christian and enjoyed the messages and music of the church throughout her life.

It was at Lincoln High School in Lake City where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Kenn. They went on to marry on September 13th, 1980, and were happily married for just shy of 45 years. Kenn, her devoted husband, was her partner in life and love. Together, they created a world filled with laughter, support, and cherished moments.

Jane studied and received her Associate’s Degree in dental hygiene from the University of Minnesota. She was proud to share her knowledge and talents with the patients she served in her dental hygiene career. She went on to work at Logistics Health, Inc. Jane excelled in the work she did to help active service members receive their dental care. There is no doubt that her warm and caring personality offered comfort in an otherwise stressful time.

Jane was a family-oriented woman. She loved spending time with Kenn no matter what they were doing- cooking, watching movies, or even fishing- she was happiest when they were together. She and Kenn raised their family of two children (and many schnauzers along the way) in Holmen, Wisconsin. When their children were younger, Jane enjoyed being their biggest cheerleader in any activity they were pursuing. She loved the noise of having all of the friends at the house. As they got older, Jane loved spending quality time with her children; shopping trips with Andrew and the annual Cranberry Fest with Mollie were among her favorite times.

In her latest stage of life, Jane’s pride and joy were her five grandchildren. They were the sparkle in her eye. She and Kenn resided in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, situated perfectly in the middle of the grandkids. Jane went to great lengths to spend as much time with them as she possibly could and lived for “sleepovers at grandma’s.” Jane was a hands-on grandma, she knew and showed interest in their interests, and she truly loved them to her core. Jane's favorite times were those spent with them, playing, exploring, and embarking on little adventures that became their treasure trove of memories.

Jane possessed the kindest and most gentle soul. She had a genuine love for people and was sincere in her desire to care for those around her. She was well-known for her fun spirit, her love of Diet Coke, and her famous Scotcheroo bars. But perhaps one of the most unforgettable aspects of Jane was her commitment to leave everyone with a hug goodbye. It was her signature act of love, a promise that no matter where life took them, they would always be in her heart.

Jane Blattner's chapter on Earth may have concluded, but the story she wrote with her life continues to motivate and uplift us. Her spirit, a compass of warmth and generosity, will forever guide us as we navigate the waters of life. She was, and always will be, a guiding star in the lives of those she touched.

Jane is survived by her husband, Kenn; two children, Andrew (Paula) Blattner and Mollie (Adam) McRae; five grandchildren, Henry Blattner, Mabel Blattner, Jack McRae, Landon McRae, and Elle McRae; one brother James (Kari) Comadoll; her mother-in-law, Eloise Blattner; siblings-in-law Kathy (Tom) Walstrom, Randy (Nancy) Blattner, and Tim (Lisa) Blattner. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Estel and Gwendolyn Comadoll, and father-in-law, Marvin Blattner.
