Jane Anna Tombarge, 94, of Red Wing, died Monday, September 8, at Mayo Health System in Red Wing. She was born on October 27, 1919 in Florence Township, Goodhue County to Arthur and Lillian (Faulkner) Staehli. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1938 and on June 20, 1940 she married Karl Tombarge in Lake City. They lived in Red Wing where she provided daycare in her home for a number of years. Karl died on September 18, 2013. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Womens Auxuillary. She enjoyed gardening, going to watch Karl play horseshoes, playing cards and was known as the super grandma and great grandma.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Linder of Red Wing, Mavis Naseth of Lake Elmo and Karen (Dale) Fabian of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 12 great, great grandchildren and special family friends, Lois Sommerfield and her daughter, Kitty. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 11 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Strunk officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 10 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
