Janet Benidt

Janet Ann Benidt, 82, of Goodhue, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Elysian Fields of Red Wing, with family by her side. Janet was born on December 8, 1943, to Russell and Jean (Caldwell) Growden. Janet was one half of the second of two sets of twins (Jeannie and Janet) and (Jerry and Geraldine) born 18 months apart. She grew up in Fountain and West Concord and graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School in St. Cloud. She married Larry Dahle and to this union they were blessed with two sons, Ed and Jim. They later divorced. In February of 1975, she married David Benidt. In 1976, they moved to rural Goodhue where she and Dave farmed for many years. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Janet enjoyed gardening, canning and tending to her strawberry patch. She also looked forward to going to the casino.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Dave of 50 years; sons, Ed (Darlyne) Dahle of Ellendale and Jim (Anne) Dahle of Fort Collins, Colorado; three grandchildren, Emily (Matt) Theisen, Matt (Karen) Dahle and their two sons, Charlie and Tommy and Gabe (Megan) Dahle and one brother, Gerald “Butch” Growden of the Twin Cities along with several nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Jeannie and sister, Geraldine Harrer.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 37750 Cty Rd 6,  Goodhue with Reverend Eric Hanson officiating. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery rural Goodhue. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
