Janice Edon

Janice Helene Edon, 69, of Red Wing died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1936 in Fargo, North Dakota to Walter and Alice (Wien) Blilie. She graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1954 and on September 4, 1954 she was married to Gilbert Edon in Fargo. They lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area until 1970 when they moved to Red Wing. She worked a number of years at Claydon?s Party Shop and Red Wing Pottery Sales Room. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Fairview Red Wing Hospital Auxiliary and the Alumni of Fargo Central. She enjoyed many things, such as boating, bowling, needlework, shopping, meeting friends at Braschlers Bakery, her many pets and the love of her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert, one daughter, Deb (Ross) Deden of Red Wing and one son, Eric (Mary) Edon of Geneva, Minn.; six grandchildren, Alice and Claire Deden and Emily, Sophie, Nicole and Zachary Edon, two step grandchildren, Megan and Macey Stephoni and one step great grandson, Mason Piepho; one brother, Harlan (Leila) Blilie of Nelson, Wis.; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Kristi Edon on September 26, 2005 and one sister, Charlotte. Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Clark Cary officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Alice and Claire Deden, Emily, Sophie, Zachary and Nicole Edon. Honorary pallbearer will be Macey Stephoni. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
