Janice Joy Holst, age 77, of Goodhue, died Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the Plum City Care Center. She was born September 26, 1948 in Austin, MN to Lester and Lucille (Tapp) Corson She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1966. On August 24, 1968 she married John Holst in Dodge Center. They lived in Red Wing for a short time before moving to Goodhue in 1971. In 1980 they moved to the county, where they had a hobby farm. Janice worked at Red Wing Shoe Co. while they lived in Red Wing then worked for 31 year as a bookkeeper for Ag Partners after moving to Goodhue. She kept herself busy between work, family and the farm. She enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter Shari (Paul) Brunner; grandchildren, Brandon, Adam, Logan, and Alexis Holst and Robert and Kali Brunner; siblings, Doris (Gary) Gerdts, LaVern (Cheryl) Corson, and Gary Corson; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lucille; husband, John; son, Brian Holst; sister-in-law Elaine Corson.
Memorial service will 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Martin Weigand officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and for one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.
