Heimdall blew his horn as the Valkyries took her home.
Janice Leone Sorem. Born on March 20, 1961, to Noble and Esther “Tappy” Sorem, Janice she was the youngest of five children. From the very beginning, she brought light, laughter, and a spirit that could not be contained. Janice lived brightly, loved deeply, and left warmth everywhere she went. The world feels quieter without her in it, but her light remains in moonlit nights, in stones tucked into pockets, and the sticks and feathers collected along the way.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held in Red Wing, Minnesota to be announced at a later date. Those who attend are encouraged to come as themselves, share stories, laugh loudly, and honor the light she brought into this world.
Janice is survived by her siblings, Boneita (Daniel) Isola, Sharon Deutschle, Eldon (Phyllis) Sorem, and Wayne (Bonnie) Sorem; her children, Tarrin McLachlan, Robin Vizenor, and Martin Vizenor; and her grandson, Caleb Vizenor, along with many beloved nieces and nephews who will carry her love forward in their own lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Esther (“Tappy”) Sorem, and her nephews, Mark Isola and Kurt Sorem.
