Jerry Joe Majerus

Jerry Joe Majerus of Zumbro Falls, MN was born to Gervase and Marjorie (Poncelet) Majerus on September 1, 1961 in Lake City, MN. Jerry passed away May 26,2026 at the age of 64. Jerry fought a long difficult battle against the cancer, along with the constant loving care of his daughter Ashley, and brother-in-law, wife, several close relatives, and close friends Mike 'Pete' Peterson and partner Chantel. Jerry grew up in Bellechester, MN and graduated Goodhue High School. After graduation, in 1980, Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the National Guard. Jerry married Theresa Frank on August 25, 1986. Together they had 2 daughters; Amber Jo (Jon) Mehrkens from Lake City, MN and Ashley Lynn (Roy) Johnson from Plainview, MN. Jerry worked on a hog farm and later as a semi driver. He then worked for several years at Valley Craft in Lake City, MN and Ag Partners in Bellechester, MN. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, raccoon hunting, and collecting agates. Jerry loved nature and spending time with family at the family cabin. Jerry also enjoyed time at the Kehren cabin. Jerry also collected metals for recycling and antiques. Jerry had a special place in his heart, and loved spending time with his daughters, son-in-laws, and 6 grandchildren; Makenna Jo, Austin Jon, Skylee Marjorie, and Chase Timothy all from Lake City, MN; Summer Theresa and Autumn Leona from Plainview, MN; and his beloved dog, Chevy. Jerry cherished time with family and friends, and loved to make others laugh. Jerry was a great story teller. The better the story, the taller the tale when it came to Jerry. His laugh was one that will always be held in our hearts and usually meant he was up to something.

Survivors include his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and parents; brothers and sisters, brother-in-law Jonathan (Lora) Luhmann from Bellechester, MN, sister-in-law Marguerite (Allen Majerus) Kunesh-Majerus from Bellechester, MN, Kris (Andy) Kehren from New Alm, MN, Stan (Nancy) Majerus from Mazeppa, MN, Chuck (Lori) Majerus from Bellechester, MN, Fritz Majerus from Zumbrota, MN, Steph (Dale) Simonson from Goodhue, MN, Todd (Sherie) Majerus from Goodhue, MN, and Angie (Chris Ball) Majerus from Stillwater, MN. Jerry Joe also has many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents Matthew and Angelia Poncelet, and Arthur and Evelyn Majerus. Jerry was also preceded in death by siblings Allen Majerus and Lora Luhmann.

Pallbearers for Jerry will be Allison, Bryan, Timmy, and Rachel Kehren. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Alex Majerus and Elijah Ball. Funeral wake will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at St. Mary's Church in Bellechester from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church and begins at 11:00 a.m.
