Jodyne Marie Lund, 65, of Pepin, Wisconsin, and formerly of Red Wing, Minnesota, passed away on December 24, 2025, in Pepin, Wisconsin. Jodyne was born on May 12, 1960, in Zumbrota, Minnesota to Harold and Arlene (Flaten) Lund. She spent her early years in Wanamingo before her family relocated to Hampton, where she blossomed into a vibrant young woman and graduated from Randolph High School in 1978.
On June 25, 1988, she married Bert Bongard and together they raised three children and the family spent time in North Branch and later settled in Elk River, where Jody's nurturing spirit shone through as she ran her in-home daycare, Cozy Oaks Day Care. Her love for children was evident in every smile and giggle she nurtured.
After 17 years of marriage, Jody and Bert parted ways, yet her resilience remained strong as she transitioned to life in the Red Wing area. Throughout the years, she worked in various places such as Deer Crest, Under the Rainbow, 3M, and the local bus company. Jody had a notable passion for Elvis, relished her Diet Coke, and found thrill in garage saling and thrift shopping. She embodied a sense of silliness and dancing during her younger days, always ready to enjoy a good time.
She found happiness in the simple things of life, like talking on the phone and reminiscing over cherished photographs and memories. Her heart bore a deep connection with her family, especially with her mother, who was her closest friend. The loss of her mother left Jody profoundly saddened, a testament to the love they shared.
As her story continued, Jody became a proud grandmother, a role that filled her heart with joy and admiration for her precious grandchildren, through whom her legacy will live on.
She is survived by her children, Melissa (Michael Christianson) Bongard, Anthony (Krista) Bongard and Adam (Mary) Bongard; grandchildren, Hailee Bongard, Isaiah Whitman, Bryson Bongard, Malcolm Christianson, Braylee Bongard, Emersyn Bongard and Miles Christianson; siblings, Ricky, Lonnie and Scarlet Lund.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Arlene Lund and a brother, David Lund.
A memorial service for Jody will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
