John W. Johnson

John William Johnson, 68. of Lake City, passed away December 22, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. John was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1956 in Durand, WI.to Edward & Shirley (Pahl) Johnson.

He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Marines reconnaissance. He was a very helpful soul, who tried to brighten everyone’s day! His favorite holiday was Christmas. Of course! He loved to dress up as Santa Claus and see everyone smile.

John is survived by his wife, Karla Lee Johnson, his daughter, Kaleigh Mae Peterson (Johnson), and her husband (Joseph Robert Peterson) and stepson (Damion Steven Peterson) and two sons, Deric James Johnson, and Chris Adam Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Private Family Grave Side Service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston.
