John Richard Paape

John Richard Paape, 77, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born on January 11, 1949 to Donald and Ione (Iseral) Paape in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. John graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1967. He was united in marriage to Marolyn Friese on August 1, 1980 in Prescott, Wisconsin. John was a driver for Armor Truck for many years and then worked security at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota until his retirement at the age of 63.

John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marolyn; children, Scott (Debbie) Paape and Donald (Laurie) Paape; four step-children, Linette (Gayl), Sandra (Jeff), Dale, and Daniel (Samantha); thirteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean (Ted) Faul. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ione.

Per his wishes he is being cremated and will be returned home.
