John Zignego

John Steven Zignego, of Red Wing, died March 13, 2025. He was born in Red Wing on June 6, 1948, the son of Willis Zignego and Dolores Kuharski. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1966 and Carleton College, graduating as a Phi Beta Kappa member in 1970. John received a J.D. from Stanford University Law School in California in 1973. He worked as a self-employed attorney in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Susan Zignego and Cynthia Zignego Stiverson.

John is survived by his sister, Julie Zignego; two nieces, Felicity (Michael) Mrnak and Emelia Stiverson; one nephew, Miles Stiverson; and a grandniece, Indigo Dolores Mrnak.

John was a loving, kind, thoughtful and conscientious son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Brandon Thiesen presiding. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Church of St. Joseph. Arrangements by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
