Joyce Mae Lamberg (Pearson), age 90, passed away peacefully in Ellsworth, Wis. on November 17, 2025. She was born on May 12, 1935, in Plum City, Wis. to Howard and Evelyn (Johnson) Pearson, and was raised in Maiden Rock. Joyce graduated from Maiden Rock High School in 1952.
On May 21, 1955, Joyce married the love of her life, Donald Lamberg. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Karen. Joyce made history as the first woman Deputy Sheriff for the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, where she served her community with dedication for 22 years.
Joyce had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed "snowbirding" to Arizona during the winter months. She and Don loved traveling across the country in their 5th wheel camper, exploring everything from the deserts of the Southwest to the mountain ranges they admired so much.
Above all, Joyce cherished time with her family. She passed down her competitive spark to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren through countless games of cards around the kitchen table. She also enjoyed an occasional visit to the casino to test her luck.
For the past 5 years, Joyce called Preferred Senior Living of Ellsworth her home, where she treasured the friendships she made and the activities she participated in.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Evelyn Pearson; her husband, Donald Lamberg; her sister, Maxine (Sonny) Morgan; and her niece, Holly Roy.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (John) Woehrle; grandchildren Jason (Jessica) Woehrle, Mark (Jessica) Woehrle, and Kari (Jeff) deLongpre; great-grandchildren Sebastian (Jadyn), Katie, Eli, Brian, AJ, Annabelle, Alexis, Lauren, Samantha, Cora, and Amelia; great-great-grandchildren Asher and Lydia; niece Julie Morgan; and many dear friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Preferred Senior Living of Ellsworth, the Palliative Care Team at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Ellsworth Health Services for the compassionate care they provided to Joyce.
A memorial service will be 11a.m., on Saturday, November 29, at Mahn Family Funeral Home in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
