Judy Hinrichs

Judy Rae Hinrichs, 76, of Red Wing, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. She was born on February 22, 1950, in Ionia, Michigan to Burnett and Kathyrn (Herreid) Dahl. At the age of five she moved with her family to Red Wing. She attended Jefferson School and graduated in 1968, from Red Wing Central High School. She married Richard Martenson and they lived in Crystal, MN until 1977, when she moved to Red Wing. She later married David Hinrichs and the two continued to make their home in Red Wing. Over the years, Judy worked at several retail stores in Red Wing. She enjoyed shopping, tending to her flowers and any opportunity to socialize and make people laugh. Most of all her greatest pride and joy was to be with her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her two children, Jennifer Opse and George (Shannon) Martenson; four grandchildren, Max, Alison, Claire and Noelle; three step-children, Zac (Connie) Hinrichs, Josh (Crystal) Hinrichs and Gabe Hinrichs; five step-grandchildren, Brooke, Sienna, Mason, Abby and Kaydin; two sisters, LuAnn Lang and Karen Schamber; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Kurt) Kline and Kathy Olson; two brothers-in-law, Dean (Tina) Hinrichs and Zac (Pam) Hinrichs along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David and two brothers-in-law, John Schamber and Peter Lang.

A celebration of life will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
