Judy Janssen

Judy Ann Janssen, 68, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 11, 1957, in Bemidji, MN to Jerrold and Hope (Runyun) Colvin. She attended schools in Red Wing. In 1973, she married Gary Hauschildt and together they had two daughters, Lori Jean and Shelly. They later divorced. Judy then married John Janssen Sr. and together they had two sons, Christopher and John, Jr. They later divorced. Judy worked at various places in Red Wing including, Big Ben, Treasure Island and most recently at the Koozie Group. She also went to Hastings Beauty School to be a cosmetologist. Judy enjoyed the outdoors, watching the wildlife and birds. You can also find her keeping herself busy drawing and writing. Most importantly she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her children, Shelly Braford of Red Wing, Chris (Cassandra Jo) Janssen of Red Wing and John Jr. (Chrissie) Janssen of Oronoco; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; her father, Jerrold Colvin of Red Wing; two brothers, Daniel (Luan) Colvin of Red Wing and Steven (Violeta) Colvin of Alaska; one sister, Donna Dee (Nathaniel) Weems of California; special friend, Lane Jablonski of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hope Colvin and one daughter, Lori Jean Hauschildt.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
