Kathryn Warren

Kathryn Elaine Warren, 70, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home. She was born on April 29, 1955, in Red Wing to Richard and Elaine (Strusz) Diercks. She attended Concordia-Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated form Goodhue High School in 1973. She furthered her education in Rochester and received her LPN license. She worked a number of years at St. Marys Hospital and then 30 plus years at Vasa Children’s Home. She continued her dedicated work ethic by driving for Hiawatha Transit for two years, eight years as a Para at Goodhue Schools, two years as secretary at Concordia Lutheran Church and retired as the director for His Kids Daycare. As an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church she served on numerous committees, currently on the funeral committee and president of LWML. She will be remembered for her many cakes that she made and decorated for weddings and other celebrations along with her passion for gardening and sewing. Living on the farm she raised chickens along with many cats and a few dogs. She was an avid Minnesota sports fan, especially the Twins. Most of all she will be remembered for all the wonderful care, compassion and kindness that she shared with her family and many friends.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Scott; three children, Kelsey (Rathers Norwood) Deaton of Houston, TX, Colin Warren of Red Wing and Tim (Debbie) Warren of Bruce, WI; one grandson, Kai Norwood; two brothers, Kim Diercks of Red Wing and Mark (Judy) Diercks of Goodhue; mother-in-law, Gine Warren of Pine Island and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Jerry Warren.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will be at the Belvidere Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Concordia Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
