Kellie Marie Stachowiak

Mar 26, 1960 — Oct 28, 2026

Kellie Marie (Holmes) Stachowiak, 66, of Eagan, formerly of Lake City, Minn. died Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at MHealth Fairview in Minneapolis.

She was born March 26, 1960 in Minneapolis to William and Eva (Skalko) Homes. She grew up in Lake City, Minn. and graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1979. On September 17, 1988, on a bluff in Frontenac State Park, she married Norb Stachowiak.

Kellie spent her working life managing restaurants. In her free time, Kellie was an amazing designer. She had a remarkable talent for decorating and everything she touched ended up looking like it belonged in a magazine. She loved entertaining and opened her home to family and friends at Christmas time. She was a wonderful host and she enjoyed cooking and baking for the whole family. Her attention to detail made her Christmas decorations look like they belonged in a department store display.

She was also a talented landscaper. She designed and built a 30-foot waterfall and pond in her backyard, making her space more inviting than many public parks. It became an oasis for wildlife and a beautiful place for her to relax and entertain. She was incredibly handy and whether it was building a patio or installing a garbage disposal, she was happy to do it herself.

She and Norb enjoyed traveling together. They visited parts of Africa, Spain and Monaco, as well as traveling all over the United States. One of her favorite places was Northern Minnesota.

In her younger years, she was very athletic as she had to keep up with three brothers who she remained close with, becoming a friend and confidante to each of them.

She was a wonderful mother. She was excited to become a grandmother and loved spending time with her grandson.

She will be missed by many, including her husband of 38 years, Norb of Eagan, Minn.; daughter, Ashley of St. Paul; step-son, Nate (Emily) of Minnetonka, Minn.; grandson, Jack; brothers, Guy (Kay) Holmes of Virginia, Minn.; and Bill (Jean) Holmes of Lake City.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Holmes; sister-in-law, Joann Yungman; and her parents.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2026 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be at Frontenac Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
