Kenneth Frank Bidwell

Kenneth Bidwell, age 85, of Zumbrota passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, St Mary's Campus in Rochester.

Kenneth Frank Bidwell was born March 26, 1941 in Madison, SD to parents, Frank and Viola (Sheldon) Bidwell. He was one of four children. They lived in the Madison area for many years, after completing school, he married Lois Jean Hughes on September 14, 1963. This union was blessed with two children. Ken worked in the automotive industry as a painter and mechanic. He and Lois moved to Stewartville, MN and they lived there for over 40 years.

In retirement, Ken enjoyed watching westerns, going for walks, camping and especially traveling back to South Dakota to the Spearfish, Black Hills and Deadwood areas. Four years ago, they moved to Zumbrota to be closer to family. Daily, they enjoyed coffee time with friends and neighbors at Zumbrota Towers. Ken will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Ken is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Bidwell of Zumbrota; sons, Roy (Barb) Bidwell of Dodge Center and Dan Bidwell of Alexandria; grandchildren, Lacey (Greg) Schwering, Beau (Kayla) Bidwell and Noah Bidwell; great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Acesyn and Skylee Schwering; sisters, Carol Martinson and Connie Bidwell; brother Donnie Bidwell; former daughter-in-law, Brenda Bidwell; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ronnie Martinson.

The family will be having a memorial service at Zumbrota Towers on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m in the social room.
