Kenneth "Ken" George Olson

Kenneth "Ken" George Olson, 58, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Boulder Creek, California, died Friday, March 1, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas.

Ken was born and raised in Illinois, graduated with honors from Arizona State University and later moved to California where he lived most of his life among the redwood trees.

His first word was 'truck' and that interest in vehicles continued throughout his life. He built models, restored muscle cars, attended races and car shows, and enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Ken deeply loved his family and had a soft spot for animals. He had a strong faith, knew no strangers, and was compassionate beyond measure. His struggle with addiction cut his life short but cannot erase the talented, intelligent, adventurous soul he was.

Ken is survived by his sons, Andrew and Austin Olson; sister, Cindy (Bob) Mettler; nephews, John and Mark Mettler; and his niece, Allison (Cody) Kloxin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Phyllis (Vollertsen) Olson and his infant brother, Larry Olson, Jr.

A graveside service will be held by the family at a later date at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
