Kenneth “Kenny” William Kurrelmeyer, 97, of Ellsworth, Wis./Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born to Sydney and Louise (Klinger) Kurrelmeyer in Empire, Minn. on September 8, 1928. Kenny went to school in Ellsworth until 8th grade, where he then worked on his family’s farm until he turned 18. Around 1952, he moved to southern Idaho to work on a potato farm. Kenny married Alice Shaffer in January, 1954 and they had 6 children together while living in Idaho. They were a part of the Pinehurst congregation of Jehovah’s Witness in Idaho. Since his baptism in 1974, he had an unshakable faith in our God Jehovah right up until the end of his life. Kenny believed strongly in the hope of the resurrection our God Jehovah had promised. He later moved up to northern Idaho to start working in the logging and mining industries. He worked in logging for over 15 years and later retired from working in the refinery at Bunker Hill Mining Company. Kenny always kept himself busy with at least two jobs, for over 50 years he ran a salvage yard on top of his other jobs. When he had free time, Kenny enjoyed camping with his family and took yearly visits back to Ellsworth to visit his family back home.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Alice; his children, Janet Carpenter, Joyce (Ray) Hummel, and Debbie (Tim) Mellen; grandsons, Marcus Kurrelmeyer and Kevin Sparks; siblings, Bufford (Marilyn) Kurrelmeyer, Duword (Eileen) Kurrelmeyer, and Duinia Kurrelmeyer; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his children Judy (Sonny) Sparks, Kenny (Shannon) Kurrelmeyer Jr., and Patsy Kurrelmeyer; and his sister, Donna Kurrelmeyer.
