Kenneth Roy Larson

Kenneth “Ken” Roy Larson, 90, of Red Wing, MN, died Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing.

He was born February 12, 1936, in Red Wing, MN, to Roy and Alice (Possehl) Larson. Ken grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. On November 26, 1954, Ken married Dawn Hutchson and together they raised two daughters, Renee and Sherri. Their family moved to several places including Alabama, New Orleans, Hawaii, and ultimately back to Red Wing… and through it all they found community wherever they went. Ken proudly worked as a maintenance supervisor for 29 years with Riedell Skates. He loved fishing, country music, and his family; many cherished memories were made “fishing with grandpa/dad”.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dawn; daughters, Renee (Ron Voigt) Hadler and Sherri (Scott) Guse; 6 grandchildren, Brandon (Jess) Hadler, Randy (Heather) Hadler, Michelle (Jack) Gadient, Katy (Nick) Myers, Kristy (Mark) Pyle, and Kassy (Tom) Rother; and 12 great-grandchildren, Gwen Krueger, Charlee Myers, Chance Myers, Ava Pyle, Kage Pyle, Isabelle Pyle, Jaeger Pyle, Henry Rother, Tori Rother, Raylynn Hadler, Natalie Hadler, and Grant Gadient. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alice; sister, Barbara and her husband Walt Buecher; in-laws, Earl and Lenora Hutchson.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on August 3, 2026, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, with Vicar Maddie Patterson officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service, burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Ken's life with take place at the Red Wing Elks Lodge #845 following the service. Memorials preferred to United Lutheran Church.
