Kunthary Phy, age 60, of Rochester, died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Kunthary Ou was born May 8, 1953 in Battambang, Cambodia where she was raised and attended school. She married Phoeurn Phy in 1979 in Cambodia. The couple lived in Thailand before moving to Rochester in 1981. Kunthary worked as a nursing assistant, opened and owned a grocery store and restaurant, and was a day care provider in her home. She was active in the Buddhist community in Rochester.
Survivors include her husband, her daughter, Navie Som of Rochester; two sons, Soben and Sundara Phy, both of Rochester; two granddaughters, Sabrin and Trisha Som; her grandson, Ryan Som, and her God daughter, Vicky (Chhoeun) Mon.
