Kurtis Carl Krause, 61, Red Wing, died at his home Friday morning. He was born June 11, 1944, in Red Wing, the son of Raynold and Rose (Mahler) Krause. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1962 and attended Business College in the Twin Cities. He was employed by the Goodhue County Sheriff?s Department in various positions for 32 years. He drove motorcoach and school bus for Lee Lines for 23 years. He married Marcia Green on August 26, 1978 in Red Wing. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Minnesota Peace and Police Officers Assn. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Marcia of Red Wing; four daughters, Elizabeth (Raymond) Keller of Lake City, Holly (Markus) Hoesli and Cheryl (Rick) Youmans, all of Red Wing and Virginia (Jon) Kundert of Kasson, MN; eleven grandchildren, Adrian, Matthias and Brooke Hoesli, Alicia and Amanda Youmans, Stephen, Tommy and Megan Keller and Brynn, Jadyn and Camryn Kundert; three brothers, Gene (Karen) Krause of Ellsworth, Ed (Lois) Krause of Red Wing and Jim (Dawn) Krause of Maiden Rock; three sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Knutson and Venita Krause, all of Red Wing and Pastor Cindy Krause of Metropolis, Ill; one sister-in-law, Doris Besaw of Traverse City, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Ken and one grandson, Jason. Funeral will be 11 a. m. Monday at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Maurice Messer, Randy Mickelson, Dean Albers, Scott Krause, Richard Collins, Rick Hogensen, Bruce Plein and Bob Volkmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Krause, Dan Knutson, Jim Luetke, Bob Bostrom, Syl Andersen and Pete Badker. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p. m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
