Lamont D. Morrison, age 82, of Red Wing, died Sunday, February 5, 2006, at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. He was born on April 24, 1923, in Sac County, Iowa, the son of Hubert and Gladys (Frazner) Morrison. He graduated from high school in Everly, Iowa. He married Carol Larson in 1946, in Iowa. They moved to Minnesota in the early 50?s and in the early 70?s to Red Wing, where they were members of First United Methodist Church. He worked for the State of Minnesota Highway Department retiring in 1985. They then lived in Rochester for three years prior to moving to Kalispell, Montana, in 1997. Carol died in 2000. On September 22, 2002, Lamont married Marcella ?Marcie? Melchert Petersmeyer at First Lutheran Church, Red Wing, with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. They lived in Montana and spent summers in Wisconsin. In the fall of 2005, they moved to Grove, Oklahoma, where they were members of Grace Presbyterian Church. They recently moved back to Red Wing. He enjoyed traveling, country music and Bible study. Survivors include his wife, Marcie; one daughter, Sylvia Morrison of Rochester; two sons, Gary (Laurie) Morrison of Kalispell, and Craig (Debra) Morrison of North St. Paul; one step-son, David (Jan) Petersmeyer of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Jennifer Madigan of Apple Valley, and Greg (Jenny) Morrison of Connecticut; four step-grandsons; three step-great ?grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Lou (Robert) Lint of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Wilma Jean Hanson of Cedar Rapids. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Carol; one son, Robert; a granddaughter, Julie Morrison; sister, Mary, and brother, James. Visitation will be from 5 ? 8 pm Tuesday, February 7, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Memorial service will be at a later date in Kalispell.
