LaRose Faye Priess

LaRose Faye (Metcalf) Priess, 96, passed away on October 11, 2026. Always one for an adventure, she spent the last six months living with her daughter in Costa Rica. Prior to that, she was living at Potter Ridge in Red Wing. Born on December 14, 1929 in Plum City, Wisconsin, she was the third daughter of Herbert and Rose (Gilles) Metcalf. She was valedictorian of her 1948 High School Class. She attended River Falls Teachers College for one year. She worked at Jostens for almost 30 years. She married Milton "Dutch" A. Price on January 24, 1950. They resided in Red Wing where they raised their four children; Linda, Cathy, Jeff, and Theresa. LaRose enjoyed playing cards. She also enjoyed golf, dancing, and watching sports. She and Milton loved spending time with their grandchildren. They were avid fans at their grandchildren's many sport events.

LaRose is survived by her daughters, Cathy and Theresa; son, Jeff; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton; daughter Linda; sisters, Maxine and Elaine; brother, Herbert; and her parents.

A celebration of LaRose's life will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2026 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. LaRose will be buried next to her husband, Milton, at Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Nicollet Hospice or the American Cancer Society. LaRose's family extends their gratitude to the EMT team, Methodist Hospital staff, Covenant Living Staff, and Park Nicollet Hospice for their compassionate care.
