Larry Louis Sanderson

Larry Louis Sanderson, 51, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa to Richard B. and Roberta A. (Richardson) Sanderson on April 14, 1972.

With Richard being in the military, Larry grew up in numerous places including Colorado, North Carolina, Berlin, Germany, and Minnesota. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City, Minnesota in 1990. Larry worked at Heat-N-Glo but found his calling at the Jewel Golf Course, where he was a cook for 22 years. Larry was united in marriage to Kimberly Sue Hamlin on December 27, 2012. He was an avid Raiders fan, North Carolina Tar Heels fan, loved to watch sports, and Jordan shoes. Larry’s close friend and brother, Kevin Garlitch, started Team Crazy in which Larry was an MMA fighter for. He also played for the Lake City Legends. He loved to spend time with his family and his dogs.

Larry was funny, witty, and ready to cheer up anyone. His life was a balance of pain and joy. Larry was greatly loved and would give anyone a helping hand.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kim; five children, Alea, Kayla, Kevin, Koby, and Sky Sanderson; mother, Roberta Truman; mothers-in-law, Lois Wegner and Red Rumsey; close friend, Kevin Garlitch; and his dogs, Niko and Lily. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; grandparents, Louis and Helen Richardson; his paternal grandparents on both sides; and his dog, Romeo.
