Leola Marie Kalanquin

Leola Marie Kalanquin, 76, of Welch, Minnesota died Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Lake City Care Center in Lake City, Minnesota. She was born on May 16, 1947 to Ludwig and Doris (Clausen) Schmidt in Heron Lake, Minnesota. Leola was a musician and singer for much of her life and in later years she enjoyed dog grooming.

Leola is survived by her daughter, Jodie (Calvin) Weiss; son, James Schmidt; her two grandsons, Cody and Mason Schmidt; and her siblings, Robert, Barbara, Jerry, Peter, and Randy Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; her parents, Ludwig and Doris; and her brother Arlan Schmidt.
