Linda Jean Diercks, 78, of Red Wing, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at her home at Deer Crest. She was born April 21, 1947, in Red Wing, to Wallace and Grace (Miller) West. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1965, and she always enjoyed getting together with her classmates throughout the years, for reunions and yearly gatherings.
She married Roger Diercks on July 2, 1966. They lived in Michigan for a short time while Roger attended school and then returned to Red Wing. Linda worked as a teachers aid at Burnside School and then began working as a job coach at the IRC, later Pro Act, retiring in 2015.
Linda enjoyed staying active and was a member of the Red Wing YMCA, where she played both volleyball and racquetball. She also loved going on cruises and traveling to the Caribbean. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Linda enjoyed shopping and pampering herself by getting her hair and nails done. She was especially fond of her Coke (never Pepsi!) and always had room for ice cream.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Paul) Teufer and Steve (Jessica) Diercks, both of Woodbury; grandchildren, Justin Juris, Kalyn Lyons and Nathan Teufer; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Evalyn, Rose and Sebastian and her brother, Dale (Margaret) West of Green Bay, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger in 2016 and two brothers, Jamie and Howard West.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Julie Kocher officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
