Lionel R. McCall

Lionel R. McCall, 53, of Red Wing and formerly of New Mexico, died Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing from heart complications. Lionel was an accomplished man in many ways; he worked construction at coal power plants, had been a great carpenter in all phases of construction. After moving to Red Wing in 2023, he began working at the Benedictine Living Community, first as a CNA and then as the Director of Environmental Services. Lionel had a passion for motorcycles, enjoyed fishing, loved all kinds of music and he held a deep love for the Lord.

He is survived by his son, Cain (Allana) McCall; daughters, Zoey McCall and Jubilee Dees and stepchildren, Hanna Ibarra and Esperanza Benavidez; his father, Robert (Sheryl) McCall and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Cheryl; brother, Robert McCall and an Uncle Ron.

A celebration of life for Lionel will be held at his workplace, at the chapel at the Benedictine Living Community on Monday, May 11. 2026 at 1:30 p.m.
