Lois A. Stumpf

Aug 30, 1930 — Oct 6, 2026

Red Wing

Lois Arleen Stumpf, 96, of Red Wing, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Benedictine Living Community. She was born August 30, 1930, in rural Goodhue County, to Norman and Ethel (Greseth) Ersland. She graduated from Goodhue High School in 1948 and then attended Rochester Junior College. On June 6, 1953, she married Earl Stumpf, and they made their home in the Hay Creek area. Lois did clerical work for the Mayo Clinic, Citizens Security and Goodhue County Social Services. Together, Lois and Earl enjoyed square dancing, playing cards with friends and traveling. Always a kind, gentle and giving person, it was only natural for Lois to frequently host her family and friends, welcoming them into her home to enjoy a home-cooked meal and a time for socializing. She was a member of United Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time in various capacities throughout the years. Most of all, Lois enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and now her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Mike) Sierakowski of Stillwater, KayLee (Joel) Eichelberger of New Prague and Kim (Alan) Oeltjen of Welch; 7 grandchildren, Lauren (Steve) Talarczyk, Melissa (Bob) Dooley, Reid Rutledge, Isaac Oeltjen, Ashley (Trent) Primus, Rachel (Joshua) Murphy and Samuel Oeltjen; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooks, James, Thomas and Lillian and 3 siblings, Joan (Alan Hegedahl) Ekblad, David (Carol) Ersland and Don Ersland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl in 2022 and siblings, Paul, Bob and Dale Ersland and Jeannie Clark.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at United Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Lands Lutheran Church Cemetery.
