Lorraine Elsie `Cookie` Ondler

OBITUARY: Lorraine Elsie ?Cookie? Ondler Funeral services for Lorraine Elsie ?Cookie? Ondler will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco with Pastor Paul Baldauf officiating. Burial will follow in the Oronoco Cemetery. Mrs. Ondler, age 78, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Rochester. She was born Lorraine Elsie Scheffler on August 5, 1927, in Pine Island Twnshp., Goodhue Co., MN to Herman and Elsie (Radtke) Scheffler. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. ?Cookie? worked at the Rainbow Cafe and Waters-Connelly before marrying Amos Jay Ondler on October 20, 1946 at Poplar Grove Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm near Oronoco and she worked for Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester. Amos died on March 12, 1984. Cookie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking, visiting with people, fishing and camping. She is survived by one daughter, Amy (Randy) Hayward, and one son, Lee Ondler, all of Pine Island, MN; two grandchildren: Chrystal Marie and Jesse Lee Ondler; three great grandchildren: Jordan, Autum and Paige; one brother, Walter (Lorraine) Scheffler, of Mazeppa, MN; one sister, Elaine Hofstad, of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Ronald, three brothers: Leonard, Rueben and Raymond. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
